THIS is your year gorgeous. Yes it is.

Hopefully, no, but hey, it’s as good a time as any.

Now before you bolt out the gate feeling energised and turbo charged into that green field of fame and fortune in your nightie, I need you stop and really be honest with yourself.

Everyday I receive emails from entrepreneurs all over the world asking for advice on how to reach that green utopia as quickly as possible.

Sadly there is no honest or sustainable way of making bucket loads of cash overnight. But all is NOT lost!

So, please put your big girl panties on and answer the following questions:

Review the last year.

What worked?

What didn’t?

Are your products and services easy to find on your website?

Too many people hide their delicious offerings for fear of being too salesy. Or they have too many products and services on offer making next to impossible for someone to decide what to buy!

Do you have your prices published?

I know a few entrepreneurs who don’t publish their prices online for fear that their competition will know what they charge. Hmm … forget your competition and then accept that hiding your prices from them also means you are hiding them from you customers. Oops!

Are you sure YOU KNOW who your customers are?

It can be daunting trying to figure out who your target market is but it’s crucial to your success.

More importantly, it can save you oodles of time, time you can use to market your business more effectively.

Not sure where to start? Begin with your niche. Identifying your niche will help you decide who your target market is

Are your prices right?

Too many entrepreneurs don’t know their worth.

Most of the time, they price themselves way too low for fear of missing out on a certain market. Or even worse they work for free. It can be a challenge to know if your prices are right but my guess is, your prices could probably do with a boost. Go for it!

Are you using your marketing channels effectively?

Are you making good use of the people around you to help you promote your business?

If you have a blog are you clear on how to blog for business?

Make sure you are clear on whether you blog for show or you blog for dough. The distinction will help you use your time more effectively. With regards to social media, are you wasting your time? You don’t have to be on every social media channel and some businesses don’t even need a social media presence (YES I did just say that.)

Ultimately make this year YOURS by being true to yourself.

Your delicious offerings have a place in this world. Don’t sell yourself short. Make this year YOURS

    This is a fantastic post and truly, you’ve given the step-by-step secrets to success.

    I’ve learned from the best (YOU) that there are no quickie fixes, but staying the course and going the distance is what works.

    It’s been 8 months since you began helping me make my business ROCK – thank you for that.

    With regards to pricing – I definitely do see the magic in laying it all out clearly, it’s been the best thing I’ve ever done.

    I will admit, (as you just saw me)I am still in my PJ’s! Promise to get those big girl panties on soooooon 🙂

    Firstly, I love the movement in your girly pic and thanks again for your inspiring posts.

    I make it a habit to review my personal life every six months or so. I check out all the things, people, habits and activities that compliment or complicate my life, and I then embrace or discard them. Thanks to your inspiration, towards the end of last year, I did the same with my business and I have now discarded trying to ‘do it all, for everyone’.

    And with an extra 12 months of wisdom, knowledge and experience under my belt, I believe, this is going to be a very good and prosperous year for me.

    Hope it’s not too late to wish joy and prosperity to you and yours.

    L-O-V-E this blog post! Sets you up for success from the get-go! And the part about getting dressed in the morning is equally important: our pajama bottoms don’t set the right tone for your external as well as internal conversations 😉

    The only addition to the above list I’d make, if I may, is: “Do you have a plan to make it all happen.”

    I know for myself that I spent most of 2012 “figuring things out,” hiding behind “oh, I still don’t know this or that.” So, 2013 for me is about making mistakes as I take action. NO more playing small!

  4. There’s still a lot to learn before I really get myself out there. For one thing I’m not really sure who my target is as of yet, and I just want to have as much people read my works. But maybe it’s not good to just promote just anywhere any maybe even focus on places that has stuff like mine.

    • Getting clear on who you help will definitely help you focus your efforts to reach the right people saving you loads of time.
      Just putting your stuff out there and hoping people will come isn’t a strategy and will be a huge waste of time and time = money.
      Don’t burden yourself with “having a lot to learn” – most of the time we actually know enough to do what we want to – we just need help selling it and believing in ouselves that we are worthy of the price we are asking for it!

    I a glad you mentioned that there is no instant overnight pot of gold to be had as so many people keep trying to draw you in with the promise of unachievable goals. One of the main things I have taken from this post is the power of positive thinking and to stay in the new year mind set so as not to lose drive as the months go on.
